Taking on new SaaS builds

SaaS product development
that scales with you

From idea to production, I help founders build SaaS products on Laravel and the TALL stack. Multi-tenancy, billing, onboarding, real-time features — the full product, architected so it doesn't fall over when traffic arrives.

Who I work with

Founders who want a real product, not a prototype

I work with people who care about shipping something solid — not just a demo to show investors.

💡

First-time founders

Validated the idea, ready to build. Need a technical partner who'll steer you away from the obvious mistakes.

🔄

Bootstrapped teams

Building from revenue, not VC money. You want sensible architecture choices that don't lock you into expensive infrastructure.

📊

Existing businesses going SaaS

Productising an internal tool or service. You know the domain inside out — I bring the engineering.

🚀

Teams replatforming

Your current stack is creaking. You want to move to Laravel and the TALL stack without losing customers in the transition.

What's included

The full SaaS toolkit

Everything a modern SaaS product needs — done properly, not bolted on later.

🏢

Multi-tenancy

Workspaces, teams, organisations — proper data isolation from day one.

💳

Billing & subscriptions

Stripe integration, plans, trials, usage-based pricing, invoicing.

🔐

Auth & access control

Email/password, SSO, OAuth, role-based permissions, audit logging.

📊

Admin & dashboards

Filament-powered admin for you, polished customer dashboards built with Livewire.

Real-time features

WebSockets via Laravel Reverb — live updates, notifications, presence.

🔧

Background jobs

Queues, scheduled tasks, webhooks, retries — the unglamorous stuff that keeps things moving.

📧

Transactional email

Onboarding flows, password resets, system notifications — properly templated and deliverable.

🌐

APIs from day one

RESTful APIs alongside the UI so integrations and mobile apps come easy later.

📈

Analytics hooks

Plausible, PostHog or your tool of choice — wired in so you can see what users actually do.

How a build works

From idea to first paying customer

Most SaaS builds take 8–16 weeks to MVP. Here's the rhythm.

01

Discovery & scoping

We agree what's in the MVP and what isn't — ruthlessly. The first version exists to learn, not to be perfect.

02

Build in weekly slices

Working software every week, deployed to a staging environment you can poke. No big-reveal moments.

03

Launch & iterate

First customers in, real feedback flowing. Then we move to a retainer if you want me to keep building.

What clients say

Kind words from people I've worked with

Jamie has been instrumental in building My Trust List from the ground up. As our senior full-stack developer, he combines genuine technical depth across Laravel and modern web architecture with the kind of pragmatic problem-solving you only get from someone who truly owns what they build. He communicates clearly, ships reliably, and consistently makes the right call on the trade-offs that matter. I'd recommend him without hesitation to any team serious about quality.

Martin Spencer

CEO & co-founder

We have worked with Jamie since 2024 after approaching him to support and maintain our vehicle recycling platform built by a previous developer. Since then we have fixed numerous bugs, upgraded to the latest library releases and built new functionality including a brand new mobile phone app for our drivers. Knowing we pay the same amount each month and can bank any unused time helps with our cash-flow and we know he'll be on-hand whenever we need support.

William Nelson

Operations Manager

Jamie is a safe pair of hands when you need someone. I have worked on a number of projects with Jamie. (Custom APIs mainly, but server and security related items as well). He responds quickly, follows up without needing to chase and completes tasks in a methodical way. He finds the last bugs with thorough testing; so we are confident at launch that everyone will be pleased.

Common questions

The things people usually ask

Laravel 12 backend, Livewire v3 for reactive UI, Tailwind v4 for styling, Filament for the admin panel, MySQL or PostgreSQL, Redis for queues and caching. Hosting on Ploi or Forge, usually with Cloudflare in front.
Most MVPs ship in 8–16 weeks, depending on scope. We agree what fits in that window during discovery — anything not in scope becomes phase two.
I work from designs you provide, or with a designer of your choosing. For founders without a designer I have collaborators I can introduce. I can also build directly with Flux UI when speed-to-market matters more than custom design.
Most clients move to a retainer for ongoing improvements. Some take the codebase in-house to a developer they've hired — I leave clear documentation so handover is painless.
Yes. You own everything — code, content, infrastructure. No platform lock-in, no rev-share, no "powered by" footers.
Standard mutual NDAs and IP assignment to you on payment — happy to do both before we go into detail.
